Meetings are held at the Clover Room at the Landing Sports Centre, 45530 Spadina Avenue at
7:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

Orientation
Night: New Members Welcome!
Please bring any interesting prints or digital photos (on a thumb drive), that you may have taken over the summer months to share with the rest of the Club! Members are also invited to bring any “Pro-shows” (digital slide shows with music), that they have been working on over the summer for viewing. We will also be discussing some program changes that the Club Executive has been working on, including changes to the judging methodology.

Competition Night – CAPA OPEN / CAPA NATURE
CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Arts), has a Fall competition open to all Camera
Clubs across
CAPA OPEN (Digital Only Format) Up to two (2) OPEN digital images (e.g., any subject except nature), may be entered per member. Both images will be judged, however only one of them (if successful), may be submitted to CAPA for the competition.
CAPA NATURE (Digital Entries only) Up to two (2) NATURE category (e.g., birds, wildflowers, wildlife, etc.), images may be entered per member. Though only one of your images (if successful), will be sent to CAPA for the competition.
Summer Shoot Competition: Please bring your eight digital
photos to the club for judging. (Please
see the “Club Meeting Schedule” on our website for the list of the Summer Shoot
subjects.

Club Program Night
Program: Our special guest speaker is Derek Carlin, from the “West Coast Animatography Group”. He will be making a presentation about “creating watchable digital shows”. Topics covered will include “common errors that people make” in producing their shows. His talk will be lighthearted in tone and promises to be both educational and entertaining! Derek encourages us to bring some of our shows on November 9th for viewing and he will provide us with feedback.

Annual Christmas Dinner and Awards Night
Christmas dinner and awards
presentation. Location “Rendezvous Restaurant”. Gift exchange ($5 to $7). During the Awards, we will be viewing the
results of the 2011 Summer Shoot member submissions, immediately followed by
the Summer Shoot Award presentation.
Members can bring their own photos to share or digital shows. Guests are welcome to attend. See

Club Competition Night: Photo Essays
Photo Essays can be up to 5 minutes long. Essays can be narrated and/or include dubbed musical accompaniment. Essays can be either digital or slide shows. If digital, then Pro-Show Gold is recommended, but other digital programs are acceptable. Essays are judged on 3 criteria, each worth ten points each – 1. Subject flow, 2. Presentation and 3. Photography, for a possible total of 30 points.
